Recently,
a customer asked if I had considered painting a business
jet, and suggested
the GV, probably the best known of the large business jets.
You
can see I have the background almost finished, and the jet
is blocked in and some of the gray tonal values are started.
I am trying to depict the high altitude these jets fly,
usually above 40,000 feet on longer trips. At this height
the sky looks much darker than what you are used to seeing
when you fly commercial, in the 30,000 to 34,000 ft. range.

Finished! When I finished the painting, I thought it was
kind of "sterile". It was missing something that
would give more of an indication of altitude. So I added
a 747 flying around 10,000 ft below to give the feel that
the GV is overtaking the slower and lower 747. Probably
don't see or say that too often...
